Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year!

As principal of Hanshaw Middle School, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another year at Hanshaw. We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of our Hanshaw Middle School family.

We believe ALL students can learn in a safe environment, designed to ensure future success in a highly connected world. We expect all members of Hanshaw School Community to treat each other with dignity and respect. Students will attend school, be prepared, and ready to learn.  ALL community members will collaborate as a team to create and sustain this academic learning environment at Hanshaw. We will celebrate the academic and social growth of our Hanshaw Community.

I feel honored to serve as the instructional leader of the school and look forward to working with the HMS community to provide exceptional learning experiences for our students.

I believe that educators have the power to change the direction of young lives and have a positive effect on the lives of future generations.

Teaching and learning require planning, enthusiasm, desire, time and effort. I have great respect and appreciation for teachers and their work.

Learning is a joyous and never ending process that leads to successful living and has a positive impact on our families and communities.  I must set the example as a lifelong learner if I expect students, parents, and teachers to be continuous learners.

Working together we can provide the best possible education for all of our children.
